An Akron family is mourning the loss of a loved one and demanding justice after a 34-year-old woman was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Dollar Tree store on Monday. The victim, identified as Brittney Stallings, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Akron police are actively investigating the incident and have released surveillance footage of the suspect, described as a lone gunman. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots around 1:30 pm, triggering a frantic call to 911.

Meanwhile, the Akron police are also probing a separate shooting that occurred less than 12 hours later, leaving one person dead and four others injured. Details surrounding the second shooting remain limited, but police have stated that the incidents are unrelated.

In response to the escalating violence, Summit County Crime Stoppers has announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects responsible for Stallings' murder. The family of the victim has expressed their gratitude for the support from the community and urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.

The tragic events have cast a pall over the Akron community, leaving residents shaken and demanding accountability. The family of Brittney Stallings pleads for justice and closure as authorities work diligently to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
