Phillies Starter Taijuan Walker Injured in Mets Game
Walker Exits After Three Innings with Shoulder Soreness
Outing Cut Short by Sharp Hit
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Taijuan Walker exited Thursday evening's game against the New York Mets in the third inning after being hit by a sharply hit ball. Walker was diagnosed with shoulder soreness and irritation and is listed as day-to-day.
Walker had been pitching well before leaving the game, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out four batters. The Phillies went on to win the game 5-2.
This is the second time Walker has been injured this season. He missed the start of the season with a shoulder impingement.
The Phillies will hope that Walker's injury is not serious and that he will be able to return to the rotation soon.
