Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing has won Saturday's Belgian Grand Prix sprint race, securing pole position for Sunday's 13th round of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship. The race was held in wet conditions, resulting in a mixed grid and a surprising top three.

Sargeant Penalised

Williams driver Logan Sargeant was handed a five-second time penalty for speeding in the pit lane. This dropped him from a podium position to fourth, behind Verstappen, Oscar Piastri of McLaren, and Carlos Sainz of Ferrari.
