Danny Kanell: Birds Out, Bucs In

Former NFL quarterback Danny Kanell sounds off on the recent NFL Draft

In a recent interview, former NFL quarterback Danny Kanell weighed in on the recent NFL Draft. Kanell, who played for the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and Atlanta Falcons during his career, had some strong opinions on which teams made the best and worst moves.

Kanell was particularly critical of the Philadelphia Eagles, who traded up to the No. 12 overall pick to select quarterback Jalen Hurts. Kanell believes that the Eagles gave up too much to move up for Hurts, and that they would have been better off staying at their original spot and selecting another player.

“I don’t think Jalen Hurts is worth the 12th overall pick,” Kanell said. “He’s a good player, but he’s not a franchise quarterback. I think the Eagles would have been better off staying at 21 and taking someone else, like Justin Fields or Trey Lance.”

Kanell was more positive about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who traded up to the No. 10 overall pick to select wide receiver Chris Godwin. Kanell believes that Godwin is a great fit for the Buccaneers’ offense, and that he will be a major contributor for years to come.

“I love the Chris Godwin pick for the Buccaneers,” Kanell said. “He’s a great receiver, and he’s going to be a huge weapon for Tom Brady. I think the Buccaneers are going to be a contender for the Super Bowl this year.”

Only time will tell if Kanell’s predictions are correct. But one thing is for sure: the NFL Draft is always a time of great excitement and anticipation. And with the 2021 NFL season just around the corner, fans are eager to see how their favorite teams perform.
